Mounting evidence has shown that heat destroys many of the nutrients found in raw, living food, rendering it harder to digest and nutritionally diminished. Raw food is catching on! From Hollywood stars with personal chefs, to a host of chic new Manhattan restaurants, the Raw Food movement is sweeping the country as people learn about the dramatic health benefits derived by eating a vegan diet in which food is never heated above 118 degrees Fahrenheit.
Entrees may get all the attention, but side dishes quietly make the meal. And let’s face it, snacks make life worth living! Every recipe in this collection of amazing sides and snacks is SUPER easy to prepare. You’ll never be out of ideas for rounding out a meal or what to take to a potluck. And speaking of parties, this book’s section on spreads and dips will have your guests craving your FABULOUS appetizers without even realizing… they’re eating the world’s healthiest food. Includes an extra bonus chapter on Raw vegan breakfast!
This Raw food vegan recipe book also includes a “Raw Basics” introduction to Raw food (with 6 basic “must have” recipes) for people who are new to the subject.

Customer Review: Live past 100 and still look hot! And the food tastes great!
People are catching on about the benefits of eating raw, but in the early years most recipes pretty much tasted like cardboard. Well, thanks to the ingenuity of many experimental raw chefs like Kristen Suzanne, now your food can taste incredible, too! I absolutely LOVE Kristen’s recipes. I’ve been raw for 8 years and have a ton of raw books and recipes. When people new to raw ask me which book I most recommend, I always point them to Kirsten Suzanne. I use all of her books more than any other. They are my favorite and the most delicious raw recipes I have. I’ve taken her “Greatest Hummus in the World” to potlucks and parties and it’s always a favorite. Raw garbanzos just don’t taste quite right, and this one is bean-less. Non-raw people can’t even tell the difference and think it’s the best they’ve ever had! I’ve been extremely pleased with all of her recipes. I like that she also pays a lot of attention to the beauty of the dish as well. I think most people (certainly myself) don’t realize how much presentation plays into our experience of food and our perceptions of how it tastes. I also really like her “How to Get Started and Succeed” intro to raw, as it’s very concise, backed up by medical research, and pretty much to the point without any raw Nazi propaganda or unnecessary content filler. She breaks it down and gives great tips for success, some of which are in this book and all her others. Simple, to the point, inspiring and delicious! Definitely my favorite raw author! Be sure to check out her website, too! [...]
Customer Review: Great book!
As a very busy person, I try really hard to always have some raw snacks and dips on hand for quick, easy meals so I love to find new recipes for dips and things. I have quite a few raw ‘cook’books, but I really like Kristen’s because it’s very straightforward and her flavor combinations are really original. I just don’t think to use cumin and allspice in dips or salad dressings, as in the really delicious Tahini-Parsley Sauce. I also really love the Flying Dragon Broccoli. I’m not a big fan of raw broccoli, but this I could and will eat often! The Worldly Spiced Rice was also fabulous. I can’t wait to work my way through the rest of this book and her other books, too. This book is a great value because it has lots of great information and recipes without all the glossy photos and fluff, so it’s much more affordable and approachable than some other books. I like the big, pretty books, too, but sometimes simple is nice. Of course, it you want the photos, Kristen provides links to them on her website. I also like the size of the book, it’s small so I can have it in the kitchen and it doesn’t take up the whole counter. I think this would be a great book for those new to the raw lifestyle, as well – the recipes are mostly simple and not intimidating at all. For many recipes, she also provides several alternatives for serving, which is really helpful for those of who tend to make the same things over and over again. All in all, a great book to have!
